I had seen this product before my son's birth and kept coming back to it b/c nothing I tried was interesting to our son. I finally bought this toy when my son was 4 1/2 months old b/c he was ready for some extra entertainment during outings. The night we took it out of the box we will never forget. We got home from work and attached it actually to our son's bouncer so he could look at it. We pulled the string to the pinwheel and our son giggled for 45 minutes that we even called his grandparents to hear the giggling. We have a nice video clip of him laughing thanks to this wonderful toy!! We use this in conjunction with the Tiny Love portable mobile and our son is entertained for hours. We were out for almost 7 hours the other day and he was entertained the entire time as he enjoys playing with the crinkly bugs, the pinwheel and other arch toys. He is NEVER bored anymore on outings and loves all of the toys. I have purchased numerous other stroller arches and toys/etc. out there and this by far trumps them all. I just wish I had bought this one initially as it is a really great toy and way to entertain your baby while in public. My 3 m/o son received this as a gift for Christmas, which was chosen based on its favorable Amazon reviews. We currently have it attached to the diaper changing table on the Pack n Play, and he loves playing with the mirror and pinwheel. It is excellent for places where you cannot place a mobile. The hinges are very flexible, including the last hinge on either side that also bends forward/backward. I like that it is brightly colorful and not gender-specific.

I hated this car seat. I bought it because online it looked good and was a resonable price. The canopy was so small that the sun was constanly shinning in my babys face. I went onine to see if I could find a larger replacement and could not. The base didn't adjust high enough so my baby slumped forward. I ended up spending the extra money and buying a Graco. I'm glad I did because my 7 month old (who is on the small side) would definetly not fit into this car seat anymore.

When Should You Move Your Child From a Crib to a Bed?

There are no hard and fast rules on when exactly you should move your child from the crib to a bed although most make the transition between the ages of 18 to 36 months. Different children react to this transition differently with some freely giving up their crib while others stubbornly refusing to move no matter what you do.

Crib Tent

Parents too have differing views on this issue. Some feel an early transition is good as it fosters confidence and independence. On the other hand, others do not like to rush and prefer to make the transition at the last possible moment when they feel that their child is truly ready for the move. To keep their child safe in the crib, they resort to a crib tent. Although some experts deem crib tents to be hazardous as it can be difficult to get your child out in case of an emergency, it is one way of preventing your toddler from climbing out of the crib.

General Rule

Because transition to a bed may cause some toddlers to feel distraught and may result in bedtime battles, some parents tend to delay the move. However, the general rule is you should move your toddler to a bed when he or she has reached around three feet in height or shows signs of climbing out of the crib. The other good gauge is you should move your toddler when the side rails come up to less than 75% of your child's height when he or she is standing in the crib.

One other question you should ask yourself is whether your child is potty-trained and maybe better off sleeping on a bed to enable him or her to get up and use the toilet as and when necessary.

Readiness

The other view is you should assess your child's readiness first before deciding when to move him or her from the crib to a bed. Therefore, you do not need to rush out and buy a toddler bed the moment your child shows signs of climbing out of the crib. This is because being able to climb out of the crib does not mean he or she is ready for a bed. Not all toddlers can sleep soundly throughout the night on their own and it may be equally dangerous to have your child roaming the house in the middle of the night when you are fast asleep.

Bear in mind that your toddler can easily get on and off a toddler bed once you make him or her move out of the crib. You would have to assess the risk of keeping your toddler in a crib as well as shifting him to a bed and put in place safety measures to guard against injury. The above are just some of the factors you should consider when confronted with the issue of transition.

Free Up The Crib

One other common reason parents move their child to a bed is because they need to free up the crib for the new baby. However, to force your child out of the crib to accommodate a new baby will only cause resentment in the process. If you really need to get your toddler out of the crib for the new baby, try to do so weeks before your baby is due. This way, your toddler is less likely to feel that he or she has to give up the crib for the new baby. Otherwise, you may be better off getting another crib, especially if you know your toddler just isn't ready for a bed.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while there is no necessity to rush your child to a bed, there is also little reason to delay the transition when the need arises. A way to help your toddler along with the move is to ease him or her into the idea before it becomes absolutely necessary to make the transition for obvious safety reasons. I normally trust Graco products, and even though I could only find one picture of this product, I bought it, trusting a good product coming from Graco! Not so.

The 'blanket' that is rolled up inside a small pocket inside the 'boot' is actually a teeny strip of very thin fleece fabric, shaped in a triangle, that would probably only cover a preemie baby. Not even close to keeping them warm.

The boot is a navy blue, elastic cover that goes over top the bottom half of the car seat, top half is completely left exposed. It is made out of crispy windbreaker material, not at all what I would consider baby friendly.


I would not recommend this product to anyone.

What to Do If You Suspect Your Toddler Has a Speech Delay

Watching a toddler develop is one of the most awesome things a parent can experience. We marvel at their first steps and anticipate their first words. Most parents anxiously await the development of their child's vocabulary not only because it is cute, but because it gives the child the ability to express their wants and needs. It's understandably concerning when your toddler appears to have a language delay. So the questions you should ask yourself are: Is my toddler experiencing a speech delay or just moving at his own pace? And if so, how do I help my child to progress at a pace that will support the stage of learning he currently needs to meet?

Expert believe that a child develop should ideally fall into these categories

12-15 months- child can say Mama-Dada
18-24 months-child is able to point to and name a few body parts as well as name pictures of animals and other items.
16-24 months- able to combine a couple of words together to form short sentences. If a child cannot do so by at least 24 month the parent should consult the doctor for direction.
Usually a child 2 and over can say in the neighborhood of about 50 words.

If you are concerned, you should first schedule your child for a doctor's visit to insure his hearing/vision is okay. A major oversight by many parents is that a child may be disobedient or not able to follow instruction due to rebellion or a learning disability. In some cases the child's hearing or vision may be inadequate. It could be something such as a prolonged ear infection or various other hearing impaired issues. For this reason this is the first step to assessing possible speech delay.

If indeed your child's hearing is fine here are some other steps you should take:

1. Begin to talk with your child more! As you are talking to him make sure to verbalize what you are doing. For example say. Mommy is doing the laundry, we need to get the clothes clean!
2. Ask questions to encourage conversation. The more your child talks the more confident he will feel with his speech.
3. Read to your child. It not only allows him to hear words and their pronunciation and usage but it is quality time together.
4. Find a playgroup or daycare setting where your child can talk and socialize with other kids his age. Like with anything else repetition is key.
5. Don't criticize your child speech it will only discourage him from speaking. And if after doing everything you know and have researched and you see no improvement, seek outside help by getting a referral from your pediatrician.

Most importantly be patient, as you probably know every child develops at a different pace. Allow your child to grow and develop naturally while closely monitoring for possible special needs.

I registered for this high chair before we had the baby and chose it solely for the looks of it.
now that my son turned 6 months we assembeled the high chair, which was a very easy and fast task.
The chair was indeed gorgeous, but I really was disappointed when I found out the tray wasn't opening. It was really hard at first to get the baby in and out of the chair(especially with the seat reducer for infants). I was ready to return it, but then i used another high chair that has the removable tray and found out that the advantages of the Mutsy are much greater and I am willing to deal with manuvering my baby into the chair.
First, with the seat reducer for infants, my baby seats much more secure and tight in the seat than in the regular high chair, and he is much more stable. The 5 point harness is much safer as well.
Another big advantage is that the baby hands are actually above the tray, which makes it easy for him to reach whatever is on the tray. In the regular high chair the tray was too high and I had to keep lifting his hands above it to reach his toys.
also, it's nice to know that later we will be able to switch the tray to the bar and just puch the baby to the family table.
I still wish the tray was removable, but we are learning how to put the baby in and out, so it does get easier to put him in and out of the chair.you can get them cheapest on Amazon through this link.

Note on the color green - Designer -
Just wanted to make a note on the color of mutsy's "green":

I have seen the easygrow green represented in so many different shades on various websites. I even have the book "Designed for Kids" that features the chair (Where the green was completely off). I just assumed that the people running these websites went Photoshop crazy and pushed the color to their liking.

The color on Amazon appears almost turquoise but in reality it is almost that minty green from the 80's (just a little more vibrant).

Other than that ....great chair!

It is impossible to keep clean since the tray stains easily. Food gets trapped between the frame of the tray and the tray itself. I stopped using it shortly after I bought it and went to Ikea and bought a high chair which has turned out great!
Save your money, not worth it! Mine is headed straight to the baby consignement store.

I bought 2 of these seats for my daughter, 4. She loves it! It's really pretty, and girly, without being overwhelming pink. From the picture, it looks like the back is white with flowers, but its actually a light green. It's light, easy to move from seat to seat. There is assembly required when you take it out of the box, and you need to use some real force for one part, but after that the seat is done. It will be easy to remove the back when its time. The cushion is very comfortable. My daughter is always falling asleep in the car and in her old car seat she always seemed to fall forward or to the side in a really unconfortable way, not to mention unsafe. So far this seat seems to hold her in position even when she's asleep. I feel that this is a seat that will grow with her for many years, and I would recommend this seat to everybody. The only down fall to this seat was how difficult it was to get. You cannot buy it in the stores around here, and I tried several online stores, all said they had it, but then it was out of stock after I ordered it. I actually loved the first one so much i got a second one for my 2nd child. I love that no matter whichend the chair sits I can pull out both of the the cup holders or atleast one of them. My boys feel like big boys sitting in them.
