- I am more than pleased with this purchase. i bought it for 0 from Walmart a week ago and it is my second car seat purchase. This seat is ultra safe. It gets great ratings on Consumer Reports in all areas, but especially crash safety and ease of use. It allows extended use of 5 point harness (up to 65 lbs vs. 40 lbs)and has four shoulder strap adjustments (I have never seen more than three!). The headrest can be set so high that a small adult could use it. Plus, the high back comes off to make it a backless booster!! This is the only booster I've seen with that feature under 0. The arm rests do not adjust, but they have cubbies inside them to keep crayons and wikki stix. One of my fav features is the cup holder that is built into the armrest b/c it is so super sturdy that it securely holds a very large full cup... and I can easily reach it from the driver's seat! and it does not stick out the side, which is inconvenient for other back passengers. My last rear-facing convertable car seat by Safety 1st was extremely difficult to adjust the harness ~ this one is EXTREMELY easy!! Also, the shoulder padding is not only removeable for cleaning, but it velcro's for super easy removal, and it has an additional pad on the crotch buckle. As I said, I cannot say enough great things about this car seat!!

I have been happy with Eddie Bauer products and so wanted to buy this one for a while. I never purchased convertible car seat in the past so I had to do lot of research before buying one.

The previous carseat for infants was getting small for my son, so I decided to buy a bigger car-seat that will last for a long time. I hope this is the last carseat I have to ever buy for my son.

The car-seat fits perfectly in the car without much trouble. I was worried about it and it's effect on the front seat.

My car is Honda Civic 2008 model, It was not a problem at all and I did not pull the front seat too much.

My son likes it and I am happy with the product.

Update:
It's been a month now, there has been not a single instance of belt tangling. Belt tangling was a problem with the infant car-seat that I had from Eddie Bauer.

Buckling the kid is quit easy, It really does not take much effort to buckle up and I can unbuckle the kid with just one hand (with left hand, I am a right handed person)

We got this seat because at the time it was the only one that would fit my infant daughter in her hip brace. And I have never liked it. We bought it in 2008, so they may have improved it since then, but it has nothing going for it. The buckles are extremely hard to get undone (good thing I guess for a toddler - she can't escape), the seat pitches her forward making it uncomfortable for her to sleep in (her head falls forward), the latch straps are tough to remove/insert (I have to put my full body weight into the seat to latch them and even sometimes I struggle with it). I would never buy this again, and after two years and another baby on the way, we've purchased another seat because I am just tired of fighting with it.

I am a mom to 6 kids, ages range from 11 years to 6 months. I have tried every carseat out there, and have fallen in LOVE with this one. We own three of these, and I am buying a fourth for our 6 month old. We firt purchased one of these seats in March 2006. Other carseats get bunched up with the straps, or they are a pain to adjust the straps, or they don't fit the baby right, or are too frustrating to figure out. This one is super easy, even to take apart and wash, and put back together. It has the LATCH system, which makes it super easy to install, and easy to get the right height with the adjustable base that is included. It also has a strap between the legs that you can easily adjust the straps around the child, with a touch of a button, if they are wearing a coat, or take the coat off. I love that feature! I went on an airplane from Tampa, FL, to Sacramento, CA by myself with my 5 kids at the time, and brought 2 of these carseats on the airplane, for my 11 month old, and my 23 month old, and they fit perfect, even side by side on the plane seats. We have an 8 seater toyota sienna minivan, and I have these 3 carseats installed in our van, with plenty of room for my other 3 kids. I don't know why it has such a bad review, unless people aren't using it properly. I have tried some of the other seats out there, and get so frustrated with everything on them, this is the only seat to buy. I usually transfer my babies into this seat around 6-7 months old, and they fit great. We have an autistic 4 year old, and he still fits this seat with the 5 point harness system very comfortably, and he can't escape it either. I love the cupholders, although I don't know if that is still a feature. The one thing we didn't really like was the attached pillow, so we just take it off. The covered straps work great for supporting the babies and toddlers heads when they fall asleep. We recently went to California driving from Colorado (20 hour drive, and we drove straight through the night) and both boys heads were well supported, and they slept great both there and back. I have owned one of these seats for almost 4 years, and the other 2 for about 2 years, and they are all still in perfect shape! I loved this car seat from day 1. I liked that it would go through all the stages. My son is 18 months old. I bought this car seat over a year ago. My wife, son and I were recently in a roll over accident. Everyone is okay and no one was hurt. My son didn't even have a scratch on him. The seat did it's job and kept him in the seat and not even wip lash. It was worth the money we paid for it. I think that everyone should get this seat it works great!
